Test the waters of the Dunkellin River, famous for it's salmon and trout. Kilcolgan Castle holds exclusive fishing rights on the stretch of the river flowing alongside it's perimeter. Explore the many rivers and lakes all within one hour of the castle.

HORSE BACK RIDING
Horses are kept on the castle grounds. The Sand arena is used to train the show jumpers and lessons may be booked for all levels. There are several places in the area to go trekking.

Golf enthusiasts will find a selection of challenging courses including Christy O Connor Jr's course - Galway Bay Golf and Country Club.

SAILING
Set sail on the beautiful Galway Bay, embarking at the Renville Sailing Club, conveniently located near Kilcolgan Castle. Lessons are available for children during the summer.

Kilcolgan Castle is conveniently located within the Galway Blazer's hunt country, and is also surrounded by many other packs. Galway is famous for its many stone walls which criss-cross the land providing a fun but challenging day's hunting. Let us know your plans and we will arrange your hunt activities to make it a more enjoyable time. This includes the hiring of your horse.
