ABOUT US

Kilcolgan Castle is located on the banks of the Dunkellin river, overlooking Galway Bay. The castle which dates from the 11th century, was rebuilt by the St. George family in the late 18th century. It has been extensively but sensitively refurbished by the late Hon. W.N. Gustafson von Hillerstamm and now hosted by his daughter Karen.

Kilcolgan castle is located in the West of Ireland, 45 minutes from Shannon Airport and only 11 miles from Galway city. It is situated just off the main Shannon/ Galway road, thus making it accessible to the shopping delights of Galway city. Galway city offers a shopping haven for the enthuasiast which includes famous Irish Crystal, Porcelain, Sweater shops and remember that Galway city is renowned to please every taste and desire.
